This is an auxiliary template allowing "|-" to be encoded within template parameters. The "|-" delimiter for a Wiki table has to be escaped by a template if it's used within a template.

There are a number of IRC channels related to this event, which are all hosted on [http://freenode.net Freenode]

This template can be used to parse tables correctly in templates. For example, the table:
+
== Main IRC ==

+

{| some table
+
'''Channel''': #linux.conf.au
|- some row
+

| some cell
+
This is the main channel, where all the action happens.

== Room channels ==
}}
+

+
There are also room channels which are used by the live video streaming. These can also be used for back-chat within a specific room. These correspond to the rooms [http://linux.conf.au/programme/schedule shown on the schedule].
Can be written as:
+

+
These channels are monitored by the AV Team in order to identify any issues with the video streaming platform.
